The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Field Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (BFAR-CAR) and BFAR Region 2 organized cleaning operations at the Magat reservoir on May 20 and May 24, 2022, respectively.
Due to pandemic restrictions, SNAP-Magat showed support by providing diesel fuel for motor transport haulers as well as additional pack meals for volunteers. Volunteers from the BFAR, the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Isabela and Ifugao, the Regional and Provincial Fisheries Aquatic Resources Management Council (FARMC), the Isabela Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO), the National Irrigation Administration-Dam and Reservoir (NIA-DRD), and members of the Ifugao and Isabela fisherfolk organizations participated in the activities.
Truckloads of mixed garbage collected by motorboats were hauled to Ramon and Alfonso Lista Sanitary Landfills for disposal and proper segregation.
Farmers’ and Fisherfolks Month aims to honor and recognize agricultural laborers for their outstanding contributions to the development of the local agriculture sector as well as the preservation and protection of water resources such as the Magat dam reservoir.
As part of its CSR program, SNAP supports initiatives that are aligned with its key result areas of health, safety, and the environment.
